Patapaa To Unearth Music Talents In Agona Swedru

Agona Swedru based Artist, Patapeezy is set to organise a monthly musical concert in Agona Swedru in the Central Region dubbed “Agona to the World”. The concert is aimed at unearthing musical talents in the municipality.

The musical concert in collaboration with Golden Star FM, would be held at the first Saturday of every month, beginning August 4, 2018 and would give authentic, talented and potential singers and rappers, a platform to exhibit their talents and readiness for the music industry.

Ghana Education Service honours four retired staff at Agona West

Four retired employees of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Agona West Municipal Education Office in the Central Region have been honoured for their contribution towards the development of education in the Municipality.

Made up of teaching and non-teaching staff, the retirees were presented with citations and parcels in recognition of their service.

They are Mr Kwodwo F. Ansong, Internal Auditor, Ms Dina Akosa Owiredu, Circuit Supervisor, Ms Elizabeth Mensah, Circuit Supervisor and Ms Grace Addo, storekeeper.

2018 Edition Of Akwambo Festival Launched In Agona Nyakrom

The chiefs and people of Agona Nyakrom have launched the annual Akwambo Festival with a call on the citizenry to contribute their quota towards the development of the town.

Nana Osei Bonsu III, the Tufuhene of Agona Nyakrom, who is also the Chairman of the Akwambo Implementation Committee, said at the launch that this year’s festival would be aimed at raising funds to finance developmental projects.

25 Disabled women undergo skills training [Agona Swedru]

Twenty-five members of the women’s wing of the Ghana Federation of the Disabled (GFD) in the Agona West municipality in the Central Region have benefitted from a two-day skills training to empower them to set up their own businesses.

The training, funded by the Agona West Municipal Assembly (AWMA), formed part of projects and programmes initiated by the assembly headed by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mrs Justina Marigold Assan, to support women’s groups in the municipality to acquire entrepreneurial skills to improve their standards of living.

Agona East NADMO Plants Trees

The Agona East District Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has undertaken the planting of acacia trees on school compounds and in communities to serve as windbreak.

Mr Dennis Armah-Frempong, the District Chief Executive (DCE) joined the officers of NADMO to also plant more than 100 trees along the banks of Ayensu River on the Agona Asafo/Kwesitwikrom road.
