Swedru All Blacks FC: Former MP For Gomoa Central Constituency Pledges Support For The Club

Agona Swedru All Blacks

Swedru All Blacks FC has been promised a support from the former Member of Parliament of Gomoa Central Constituency in the central region, Hon. Rachel Florence Appoh.

The football club was purchased from the Agona Swedru traditional Council by one Mr. Ato Quayson and other shareholders who have neglected the team to a deplorable state. The taking over of new management was done at the beginning of the season.

It is evident that the new owners are not staunch fans of football as not even one of them have taken time off their schedule to watch even a single match of the team. They seem unconcerned by the progress of the team, the gate proceeds nor the payroll of the team. The players complain of non-payment of salaries; this has demoralized the players to up their game in matches as there is no motivation.

However, the former MP of Gomoa central has decided to come to their aid when she was contacted by the management of the team. The former Deputy Minister of Children, Gender, and Social protection has assured the entire team of her enormous support and promised the team to get them back to glory days.

She said this in an interview with Kennedy Ohene Opare on Tactical Sports on Agona Swedru based radio station Enuanom Fm. According to her, she has been part of the sports committee for four years now and has gained enough experience to help solve the current problems of the football club. Although she is yet to come into terms with the management of the football club, she is enthused and fully committed to helping push the football club to a higher level.

She proceeded by saying that although she is mostly busy due to her school duties, she is ready to support Swedru All Blacks to get back to winning ways.

She, therefore, urged the people of ‘Agonaman’ and ‘Gomoaman’ to come on board to help and support the club to qualify for the Ghana premier league.

Swedru All Blacks is currently playing the Polytank Division One League and are yet to qualify to the main league, the Ghana Premier League.
